Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a functionality that requires two different forms of identification. The goal is to provide greater security to your CloudCart account.

Configuration

Step 1. From your store's admin panel > admin profile > Two-factor authentication and select Configure.

Step 2. After selecting configure, the two-factor authentication settings menu will appear. Here you need to validate your code.

To do this, you will need to perform 2 steps:

1. Scan the QR code. You can scan the code with an authentication app or with a scanning browser extension.

Authentication apps like Google Authenticator ( IOS or Android ), 1Password ( IOS or Android ), Twilio Authy ( IOS or Android ), Microsoft Authenticator ( IOS or Android ) etc. generate one-time passwords as a second factor to verify your identity when prompted during login to your admin panel.

2. You will receive a code from the application, which you need to enter in the input field and select validate.

If you are unable to use your camera to read the QR code, you can enter it manually from the “Setup Key” option.

If you choose this option, a code will be generated that you will have to enter in the field and validate.

Step 3. Once you have validated successfully, a recovery codes screen will appear.

Choose one of three options to save them: download, print or copy.

Recovery codes can be used to access your account if you don't have access to your device and can't get the code from two-factor authentication.

We recommend saving them with a password manager such as 1Password, Twilio Authy, or Keeper.

Keep your recovery codes in a safe place, as they are the last way to access your store if you do not have access to the password and code from the two-factor authentication, and if you do not have them you will lose access to your account.

Step 4. Once you have successfully saved your recovery codes, a screen will appear saying that two-factor authentication is now enabled. Select the "Finish" button.

This is what two-factor authentication will look like when you try to sign in to your account.
